Six More JP Schools Students Named National Merit Scholars

Jefferson Parish Schools now has 10 National Merit Scholars this year following the latest announcement from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Six JP Schools students have been named college-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners. This is in addition to the four students named National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners in May.

Four of the college-sponsored winners are from Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies and two are from Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. The winners were chosen from over 15,000 National Merit Finalists across the country. Each of the JP Schools winners are listed below, along with their probable career field.

Thirty students in Jefferson Parish Schools have been named Finalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. This is the third announcement of winners in the 2022 program. By the conclusion of this year’s competition, about 7,500 academic champions will have won National Merit Scholarships worth more than $28 million.
