“Earning the recognition of National Merit Scholar is a prestigious honor that only goes to a tiny fraction of students across the country.” said JP Schools Superintendent Dr. James Gray. “This is a major accomplishment for these students, their families, and our educators. I look forward to seeing more JP Schools students named as the competition continues throughout the summer.”

National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners are Finalists in each state with the strongest accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. The NMSC finances most of these single-payment National Merit $2500 Scholarships.

Thirty students in Jefferson Parish Schools have been named Finalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. This is the second announcement of winners in the 2022 program. By the conclusion of this year’s competition, about 7,500 academic champions will have won National Merit Scholarships worth more than $28 million.
