JP Schools Advanced Study Academies Applications Now Open
The application window opens Monday, October 11 for Jefferson Parish families to apply for some of the top performing public schools in the state. The Jefferson Parish Schools Advanced Study Academies (ASA) application window for the 2022-23 school year is Monday, October 11 through November 5.
JP Schools is launching a new portal this year that will streamline the application process for ASAs as well as other magnet and specialty programs offered by the system. Families will use the portal to apply, select testing dates, and receive status updates from the district. This new tool will serve as a one-stop-shop that makes it easier for families to take advantage of some of the many choice options offered in Jefferson Parish.
“The opportunity to learn at an advanced study academy is one that will provide academic enrichment to students, as well as allow them to advance and challenge themselves in their academic career, ” said JP Schools Superintendent Dr. James Gray.
To be eligible for ASA admissions, students must first meet the eligibility requirements for ASA testing and then score in the 85th percentile or higher on the ASA admissions test. Eligibility criteria, applications and an ASA directory are available at jpschools.org/asa.
Advanced Study Academies are designed to expose the most highly capable students to a challenging and accelerated curriculum. JP Schools’ Academies employ a school-wide enrichment model and use project-based, hands-on instructional techniques. Students are highly engaged through differentiated instruction and are working at least one grade level ahead of other students in their age group and grade placement.
