Hurricane Zeta Update
Based on the latest call with parish officials, Hurricane Zeta is expected to bring inclement weather to our region tomorrow afternoon, October 28. Because safety is our top responsibility, we want to keep our students and employees off the roads in the event we have high wind and/or heavy rain tomorrow. We also want to ensure student learning continues. With that in mind, Jefferson Parish Schools will conduct remote learning tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 28 for all students. All on-campus before and after-school activities will be cancelled since school and administration buildings will be closed.
As residents of south Louisiana, we prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Tomorrow’s remote learning day will be contingent upon the severity of the storm and its effects, and remote teaching and learning will occur, if possible. Your principal will facilitate the preparation needed in order to conduct remote learning tomorrow and share more information with you.
We will continue to share information with employees and families following tomorrow’s storm preparation calls with the parish. Please expect another announcement tomorrow regarding Thursday, Oct. 29.
