JP Schools Superintendent Hosts Coffee Chat October 17 in Marrero
Jefferson Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley is inviting community members to join him for a cup of coffee and a chat about our schools as part of his Discovery Days visits. His third coffee chat of the school year will take place October 17 from 8 to 9 a.m. at Cafe’ Bella at 3156 Barataria Blvd. in Marrero
Along with a one-on-one conversation with the superintendent of Louisiana’s largest school system, community members can enjoy free coffee and pastries.
Coffee chats are part of Dr. Brumley’s annual Discovery Days where he spends the day in a JP Schools district. Each Discovery Day begins with a coffee chat, followed by a school visit that includes meetings with students, families, teachers, and administrators.
Schools in each district are drawn at random by each board member. Ray St. Pierre Academy is hosting the Discovery Days visit on October 17. Schools hosting the remaining Discovery Days visits in 2019-20 are: Woodland West Elementary (November 7), Grace King High (December 12), Greenlawn Terrace Elementary (January 23), East Jefferson High (February 13), Metairie Academy (March 12), Bonnabel Magnet Academy High (April 16), and Terrytown Elementary (May 7).
Discovery Days are a way for Dr. Brumley to stay connected with the communities he serves as superintendent of the largest school system in Louisiana. This is the third school year he’s hosted Discovery Days in Jefferson Parish. For more information about Discovery Days, visit jpschools.org/discoverydays.
