Hispanic Heritage Month is officially observed September 15th through October 15th, but at West Jeff, it was celebrated the entire month of October as a result of days missed due to Hurricane Ida. The month long celebration included lunch time Latin Music and Dancing events. The school's library displayed many books and resources that highlighted many noted Hispanic Americans. There were also displays in the school's hallways and daily trivia questions for small prizes. The culminating event was the display of an offrenda where everyone was encouraged to honor their loved ones by placing their pictures on the "altares". The observances were culturally uplifting to all who participated.
