Schneckenburger Elementary's Christi Rome Named JP Schools Principal of the Year
Jefferson Parish Schools named Schneckenburger Elementary's Christi Rome one of its district winners for the Louisiana Department of Education’s Principal of the Year.
“These three educators are making gains with the teachers and students on their campus,” said JP Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley.” Having served as a principal myself, I know the responsibilities they hold and the opportunities they have to make lives better for children. I’m proud to have these three instructional leaders represent Jefferson Parish Schools.”
In partnership with the Louisiana Association of Principals, the Louisiana Department of Education annually honors the state’s most exceptional educators through the Principal of the Year program. The Louisiana Principal of the Year awards program provides an opportunity to acknowledge those educators who are making exceptional gains with students.
Schneckenburger Elementary Principal Christi Rome is the JP Schools Elementary School Principal of the Year. Rome is in her fourth year as principal of Schneckenburger. Her school has been recognized by the Louisiana Department of Education as a high-poverty, high-performing school and a Top Gains honoree for student growth.
“The team here at Schneckenburger is outstanding,” said Rome. “We do a lot of things with our community. We put kids first.”
