Student Spotlight: Arthur Oliver, East Jefferson High School
Arthur Oliver is an 11th grader at East Jefferson High School.
As quarterback, Arthur walks on campus feeling encouraged and cared for. He says his teachers make sure he doesn't take shortcuts because there are no shortcuts to success.
What are your plans after graduation?
I want to go to college and major in sports medicine, hopefully on an athletic scholarship!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Building my own house, achieving success in my career and having my family surround me.
If you were in charge of a school, what would it be like?
There would be cell phones at lunch, a DJ during all sports activities and all classes on iPads so no need for paper.
Is there a teacher or someone from your school that has inspired or impacted your life in a positive way?
My head coach, Frank Allelo, Mrs. Emily Guastella and Coach Raymond Oxmann. All of these teachers and coaches have inspired me to perform well in my academic career and excel in athletics. They have instilled in me a desire to work hard to achieve my dreams.
What is your favorite social media platform and why?
Twitter because it is the best recruitment and news platform for up to date information.
