JP Schools Keeps the Spirit of Mardi Gras Alive

While Mardi Gras may look different this year due to the pandemic, we will not allow that to diminish our spirits. We asked our followers on Instagram to share their favorite memories of how they let the good times roll in years past.

Making floats at Pittman Elementary!

Getting the baby in a slice of king cake.

My first time ever going to Endymion.

Last year we did a parade at school and it was so much fun!

Having a king cake cut in class for my birthday.

We checked in with schools across the district and most of them plan to incorporate Mardi Gras elements into their school activities, while keeping safety top of mind. Several schools will be decorating shoebox floats, hosting door decorating contests, enjoying king cake and dressing up. Stay tuned to our social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) as we share images of Mardi Gras from our schools across the district.
