Join Dr. Brumley for Coffee & Conversation September 12 in Marrero
Jefferson Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley is inviting community members to join him for a cup of coffee and a chat about our schools as part of his Discovery Days visits. His second coffee chat of the school year will take place September 12 from 8 to 9 a.m. at Cafe’ Bella at 3156 Barataria Blvd. in Marrero.
Along with a one-on-one conversation with the superintendent of Louisiana’s largest school system, community members can enjoy free coffee and pastries.
Coffee chats are part of Dr. Brumley’s annual Discovery Days where he spends the day in a JP Schools district. Each Discovery Day begins with a coffee chat, followed by a school visit that includes meetings with students, families, teachers, and administrators.
Schools in each district are drawn at random by each board member. Cuillier Career Center is hosting the Discovery Days visit on September 12. Schools also hosting Discovery Days visits in 2019-20 are: St. Pierre Academy (October 17), Woodland West Elementary (November 7), Grace King High (December 12), Greenlawn Terrace Elementary (January 23), East Jefferson High (February 13), Metairie Academy (March 12), Bonnabel Magnet Academy High (April 16), and Terrytown Elementary (May 7). Additional details of those days will be shared at jpschools.org.
Discovery Days are a way for Dr. Brumley to stay connected with the communities he serves as superintendent of the largest school system in Louisiana. This is the third school year he’s hosted Discovery Days in Jefferson Parish. For more information about Discovery Days, visit jpschools.org/discoverydays.
