Bringing Back Our Campuses Hit Hardest By Ida

Jefferson Parish Schools (JP Schools) announced the Building Back Stronger campaign for Leo Kerner Elementary, Fisher Middle/High, and Ray St. Pierre Academy, the three schools that sustained the most long-term damage from Hurricane Ida. These  schools are currently sharing campuses with other schools amid the hurricane recovery process. The campaign is designed to create a sense of communal information where each school has a web page dedicated to each school’s recovery process. In addition to frequent updates from Superintendent Dr. James Gray on where the district is in the recovery process, this online hub serves as an additional resource where updates will be provided on a monthly basis.

“The Building Back Stronger campaign is a dedicated effort to support each school community with their campus’s recovery process,” said Superintendent Dr. James Gray. “I have often stated that the key to our recovery efforts would be continuous communication, and this is simply another action to support that initiative.”

Along with frequent town halls and messages to the school community, the Building Back Stronger webpage will serve as an additional resource to find any and all information in a consolidated area. To access the web pages, visit jpschools.org/stpierrereturn and jpschools.org/lafittereturn.
