Support Spotlight: Roslyn Hamilton McDonogh 26

Roslyn has been with the district for 27 years and still loves watching her students grow year after year. Former students remember her, and she says knowing she had an impact on their life feels awesome.

How long have you worked for the school and how/why did you choose your profession?

I have worked at McDonogh 26 for 13 years but with Jefferson Parish 27 years. As a young mother, working in the school system allowed me to spend time with my daughters as they were growing up.

What is the best thing about your job?

The best thing about my job is to witness the students progress and observe their growth because they are our future.

How do you build relationships with students?

Respect. I treat every student the way I expect them to treat me.

What is something you would like people to know about you?

When the students succeed I feel successful as well.

Can you play an instrument? If so, which one?

In Junior High School I played clarinet.

What makes a ‘good day’ at school?

A good day is a "child tantrum free" day.
