New Adopt-A-School Program Pairs Nearly Half of JP Schools with Community Partners
Jefferson Parish Schools launched its Adopt-A-School program less than two months ago, and so far the district has connected nearly half of its schools with a community partner.
JP Schools has matched 38 schools with local businesses and community organizations as part of the new program that partners local organizations with public schools in Jefferson Parish. In all, JP Schools is looking to match 77 schools.
“As the state’s largest school system, this work is too big for us to do alone,” said JP Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley. “People want to help us, and this initiative provides the framework for their support in moving our system forward.”
Implementing an Adopt-A-School program for the community to partner with and support individual schools is an action step in the district’s strategic plan, 2024: The Future Our Kids Deserve. The program is one of numerous steps the district is taking to make good on the commitment to give the community opportunities to support students and schools.
