Voter Registration Drive on May 12, 2021
We know that after graduating high school, our students will take what they learn in class onto college, the workplace, the military and into our communities. It is our goal to prepare them. One of the easiest ways to get them involved in becoming engaged citizens is to register them to vote.
As part of 2024: The Future Our Kids Deserve, registering to vote is one highlight of our Graduate Profile.Yearly, the Jefferson Parish School Board passes a resolution for JPS to partner with the Jeremiah Group to host a Student Voter Registration Drive.
Faculty who have selected seniors are to allow those students to watch the 20 minute Voter Registration video found here on Wednesday, May 12 at 10:45 AM. The video is a step-by-step guide to completing the voter registration form which will be hand delivered to your class by 10 AM on Wednesday.
-
Eligible Students will be provided a Voter Registration Form.
-
Eligible students must meet the following requirements:
-
They are U.S. Citizens.
-
They are Louisiana residents in the parish in which they want to vote.
-
They are at least 17 years old.
-
Students will follow along as the instructions are provided in the video and complete the Voter Registration Form.
These forms will then be handed to volunteers from the Jeremiah Group who will be on site to collect all forms.
