Jefferson Parish Schools is now accepting applications for its Superintendent’s Councils after the original timeline was interrupted by Hurricane Ida. JP Schools Superintendent Dr. James Gray reopened the application window for his five Superintendent’s Councils involving parents, students, teachers, principals, and special education stakeholders. Applications are available at jpschools.org/councils until October 10.

“Engaging and connecting with our stakeholders on a continuous basis is key to our success,” said Dr. Gray. “Strong schools build strong communities, and it is important that we put our stakeholders at the forefront of all our decisions, especially those impacting students.”

In its fourth year, the Superintendent’s Councils provides stakeholders with a seat at the table to inform and improve decision-making. Due to Hurricane Ida, the councils will meet three times this school year.

The five councils are the Superintendent's Parent Council, Superintendent's Principal Council, Superintendent's Special Education Council, Superintendent's Student Leadership Council, and Superintendent's Teacher Council. More information is available at jpschools.org/councils.
