Twenty JP Schools Students Named National Merit Finalists
Twenty students in Jefferson Parish Schools have been named Finalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Haynes Academy led the way in JP Schools with 11 National Merit Finalists. Five students from Patrick F. Taylor Academy earned the honor. Thomas Jefferson High had a school-record four students named Finalists.
“I’m excited to see our students recognized for their superb academic achievements in our public school system.” said JP Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley. “I celebrate these accomplishments alongside their teachers, families, and communities..”
Over 15,000 of the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2019 have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition.
