Teacher Spotlight: Jaelyn Culliford, Phoebe Hearst Elementary
Ms. Culliford is a Special Education Teacher at Phoebe Hearst Elementary
What is the best part about teaching?
The best part of teaching is when my lessons allow my students to be themselves, share out and be silly. Those are the moments that I know my students will never forget!
What is your favorite show to binge watch and why?
Grey's Anatomy. I feel like I'm basically a surgeon by now.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given about teaching?
Always clear off your desk at the end of the day; that makes room for a fresh start each day. I apply that logic to more than my desk.
If you were to be given a superlative when you were in school, what would it have been?
I actually was voted Ms. SUNSHINE before! Which is pretty funny because students at my school have many versions of my name and one is Ms. Colorful!
How do you spend your summer breaks?
I like to work on themed graphic art that is related to Louisiana pride, diversity and special needs that I sell on the side.
