Stacey became a teacher because school was a place where she felt successful, noticed, and supported. She aims to provide opportunities for students to feel challenged and successful every day.

What is the best thing about working at your school?

The best thing about working at my school is the positive, supportive environment. Teachers, students, support staff, and administrators are equally invested in the betterment of each other schoolwide.

What is rewarding about your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is getting to know 60 "new" students each year, who become extended family as we navigate challenges and celebrate successes.

What sort of impact do you hope to have on your students?

My hope for my students is that their confidence increases as they gain skills needed to master challenging tasks.

How does it make you feel knowing you impact student’s lives every day?

Knowing that I impact students every day humbles me. It is my honor to be able to influence developing minds.

What motivates you to continue teaching?

I love to learn, and as I learn, it motivates me to apply new knowledge and skills to the classroom.

How do you build relationships with students?

I build relationships with students by modeling respect, offering lessons that engage all learning styles, talking WITH them, not over or down to them, and by incorporating humor and music.

Is there a quote or saying that you live your life by?

A quote that I live my life by is "Do unto others as you would have done unto you." My grandfather was my biggest role model and I witnessed his selfless devotion to family and friends throughout his life. I strive to make him proud of me by treating others the way he did.

What is your favorite show to binge watch and why?

My favorite show to binge watch is either "Love it or List it" because I LOVE anything real estate/decorating related, or any type of cooking show. When I'm not involved in some type of home project, I'm cooking up new creations.

What is your dream vacation?

I'm looking forward to traveling in the near future. My son is graduating from high school this year. He is my 4th and last child, so I will finally have some free time after 37 years of being a full-time mom!

How do you spend your summer breaks?

And speaking of "free time", I would LOVE to learn to play the saxophone! But I need to learn how to read music first!!!
