JP Schools Announces Second Advanced Academy Application Window

Jefferson Parish Schools is giving families another opportunity to apply for some of the top schools in the state. A second application window is open until June 22 for the system’s Advanced Study Academies (ASAs). Families who did not apply during the original application window last fall can apply for seats that remain for the 2022-23 school year. A list of available seats and the online application can be found at jpschools.org/ASA

JP Schools is hosting an in-person workshop for families who need assistance with their child’s application. The workshop will take place Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the JP Schools Administration Building at 501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey.

ASAs are designed to expose the most highly capable students to a challenging, rigorous, and accelerated curriculum. The academies focus on high-potential students who are successful in gaining admission through the ASA admissions process.

“Our Advanced Study Academies offer our students a unique opportunity to advance their education by challenging themselves both academically and personally,” said Superintendent Dr. James Gray. “This experience is one that will certainly lend well to their overall academic achievements and success.”

To be eligible for ASA admissions: (1) All students must meet age and residency requirements; (2) Students entering grades 6-12 must meet a core GPA requirement of 2.5 for their previous two years in school; and (3) All students must score in the 85th percentile or higher on the ASA admissions test. All ASA testing will be held online. For more information, please visit jpschools.org/DistrictAffairs or call 504-349-7792.
