What is the best thing about working at your school?
I love teaching at Marie Riviere Elementary. The students are very respectful and willing to learn. The faculty and staff are supportive and give their all.
Why did you become a teacher?
Becoming a teacher was the suggestion of a dear friend who was a teacher.
What is rewarding about your job?
I am over the top when my students "Get It" !!!
What sort of impact do you hope to have on your students?
I hope I inspire my students to always seek knowledge and a love for learning.
How does it make you feel knowing you impact student’s lives everyday?
I have always been in awe of how what I have chosen to do for my career can impact the lives of others.
What motivates you to continue teaching?
I continue to teach because I believe I can make a difference in my students' education and their lives.
How do you remember all of your students’ names?
When I meet my students on the first day of school, I make a connection with the face and the name. I give myself until the end of the first week to know all my students.
Is there a quote or saying that you live your life by?
My favorite scripture to live by is "I can do all things through God who strengthens me."(Phillipians 4:13)
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would it be?
I always remind my students that education is the key to unlock doors of opportunity. READ!!!
Have you ever completed anything on your “bucket list”?
I have traveled to half of the US states including Alaska and Hawaii.
