Superintendent's Weekly Message: December 4, 2020
JP Schools Family,
We hope everyone had a healthy and pleasant Thanksgiving. With a little more than two weeks left until our winter break, our teachers and administrators are hard at work preparing our students to be successful on state assessments in the spring.
Last night, we ended our first series of six parent computer literacy workshops held in partnership with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The workshops covered topics such as how to use Chromebooks, Google Classroom, Google Meet and the various apps used to aid instruction. As we continue to increase the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning, we recognize the need to offer resources to our parents to support learning from home. We plan to offer more of these workshops in 2021, so stay tuned for those details.
While our top priority continues to be student learning, safety is still our top responsibility. We stay vigilant about our health and safety protocols and continue to monitor the health and wellness of our schools using guidance from the Louisiana Department of Health and Ochsner.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education of your students. Together, we will be the champions our students deserve.
Dr. James Gray
