High School Summer Bridge

Jefferson High School Summer Bridge 2024 is designed to provide targeted high school students an opportunity to retake a LEAP content course to earn Carnegie credit and graduate on time. Summer Bridge is a free summer learning opportunity. 

The High School Summer Bridge opportunity is available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in a Jefferson Parish School high school in grades 9-12 during the 2022-2023 school year
  • Previously attempted but failed a LEAP content course
  • Met LEAP testing requirement for graduation

The courses offered are: English I/II, Algebra I/Geometry, Biology/US History and Civics (Rising seniors ONLY who failed Civics). Students may only enroll in one (1) course. This program is not traditional summer school nor is it a self-paced PLATO recovery. The Summer Bridge program is an in-person instructional program to recover credit. The final student grade earned in the program will be added to the transcript (the original grade will not be replaced).

In-person Instruction Dates: June 3 to June 21
In-person Instruction Times: 8:30-11:30 a.m.
In-person Instruction Locations: Adams Middle School & Thomas Jefferson Academy
