Why did you become a para? I chose to be a stay at home mom and raise my three children and when my youngest was finishing up elementary school, I had the opportunity to fulfill my dream of working with children as a Paraprofessional.
What is your favorite thing about your job? My favorite thing about my job is when I see a student struggling with a particular skill and after some practice, achieve success.
What role do you play in helping students succeed? There are times that my students might feel overwhelmed, so as a Para, I will work with them one on one to help them succeed.
How does it make you feel to know that you play such an important role in a child's life? I believe working with and teaching children is one of the most rewarding jobs out there. So, the fact that I play an important role in a child’s life makes me feel loved and fulfilled.
What is your hope for the students you work with? My hope for the students that I work with is for each and every one of them to be able to achieve their goals and reach their dreams.
What would students be surprised to find out about you? Students would be surprised to find out that I am a twin!
How do you spend your summer breaks? I spend my summer breaks relaxing by reading, taking bike rides, and going on long walks. I also love spending time with family and friends.
What song do you know all the lyrics to? The song I know all the lyrics to is “Love Wins” by Carrie Underwood.
If you could grow up in any decade, which would it be and why? If I could grow up in any decade, I would choose the 50’s because it seemed a much simpler time, and I love the fashion during this decade.
What is your dream vacation? My dream vacation would be to travel throughout Europe.
