American Petroleum Institute Delta Chapter Teacher Award
The American Petrolium Institute Delta Chapter has an annual Teacher Award Program which was established to honor outstanding teaching and dedication to student learning and opportunities in the metropolitan New Orleans area. This year only 13 teachers have been selected as API awardees. Cathryn Hamilton is the only Jefferson Parish Public School teacher to be recognized this spring.
In the letter of support sent in her application packet, she was described as a teacher with a deep understanding of how to use real-world, relevant phenomena to motivate students and as a teacher with the skill to guide students to think more deeply and critically. The indication she is a relentless innovator impressed the members of the API review panel.
