Chevron Donates $50,000 to JP Schools in Recognition of Eastbank Little League World Series Champs
As a tribute to the Eastbank Little League team from River Ridge winning the World Series, Chevron has donated $50,000 to Jefferson Parish Schools. This donation kicks off Chevron’s annual Fuel Your School program, that assists teachers, grades K-12, by providing them with supplies and funds needed to enhance learning in their classrooms.
Chevron representatives presented a check for $50,000 to Jefferson Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley at Kenner Discovery, a school that Eastbank player Connor Perrot attends.
The donation will go toward furthering the Parish’s Tier I curriculum and supplying innovative teachers with tools needed to guide students’ learning in Science, Technology, Engineering Math, English, Language Arts and Social Studies.
Jefferson Parish teachers can post projects on DonorsChoose.com to apply for a portion of the funding. Jefferson Parish teachers can apply for this funding by visiting www.donorschoose.org/teachers starting on Monday, September 30.
In addition to this $50,000 donation, Chevron will disperse up to $325,000 in total to classrooms across Southeast Louisiana. Teachers can apply starting on Monday, Sept. 30 and continuing through Wednesday, Oct. 30. For official 2019 Louisiana Fuel Your School rules, click here.
