Superintendent's Councils Application Period Open Through August 28
For the second consecutive school year, Jefferson Parish Schools Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley is offering involved educators and community members a seat at the table.
The application period is open now through August 28 for four of the five Superintendent’s Councils: the Superintendent’s Parent Council, Superintendent’s Principal Council, Superintendent’s Student Leadership Council, and the Superintendent’s Teacher Council. Membership in the Superintendent’s Special Education Council does not rotate on an annual basis.
“The input from councils last year was valuable and necessary for us to improve the system,” said Dr. Brumley. “Along with giving us ongoing feedback from teachers and principals, last school year’s councils had important input on the district’s strategic plan and helped advise us on district policies.”
Applications and nomination information can be found at jpschools.org/councils. This is the second school year for the five Superintendent’s Councils.
Partnering with families, community members, board members, agencies, and other stakeholders is one of the six priorities outlined in the district’s strategic plan, 2024: The Future Our Kids Deserve. Through these councils, the district helps ensure people’s voices are heard and utilized.
