What is your approach to classroom management?
My approach to classroom management is consistency, patience, and flexibility. I think it’s important for the students to have their input into the classroom. I teach 3 different classes, and the expectations shift through each class that meets their needs.
How do you remember all of your students' names?
That has been difficult for me forever, but I have my students quiz me the first week of school on their names and if I fail then my students receive some kind of reward.
What do you do on your summer breaks?
Most of the time I travel to Michigan or northern Indiana which is where my family lives. I also do a book study that I want to work on for the following year for professional development.
Coffee, Tea, or Cola?
I am very picky about my coffee so I make my own cold brew and then I have it with oak milk everyday.
What would students be surprised to find out about you?
I ran a sprint triathlon in 2007, which I had to do a half mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run. It took me about 4 months or more to train for it. I also study abroad in Italy.
