Facilities & Maintenance Team Honored for Dedication Before, During, & After Ida

facilities teamJefferson Parish Schools used a monthly honor to recognize the hard work and dedication of the Facilities and Maintenance Department before, during, and after Hurricane Ida made landfall. Members of the facilities & maintenance team were recognized with the November 2021 JP Schools Campus of the Month award during the November board meeting. Along with members of the District Affairs Unit, their support was key to schools reopening just over a month after the category 4 storm impacted the parish.

"This group worked hard prior to and while the storm passed through they hunkered down at our warehouse to ensure that all of us were prepared after the hurricane to get our schools up and running as quickly as possible," said Chief Operations Officer Jerome Puyau. "The people on this team are some of the most outstanding people I have ever worked with. I'm proud and honored to stand by their side each and every day."
