JP Schools Announces Support Employees of the Year
Jefferson Parish Schools named its district winners for the Louisiana Department of Education’s Outstanding School Support Employees Awards program. These individuals have rendered time and talents beyond the call of duty.
“Our support employees are a part of the foundation of our district,” said Dr. James Gray, Superintendent of JP Schools. “The work they do during any given year is challenging, and they have truly stepped up to the plate this year under the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a pleasure to recognize these individuals for their exemplary service.”
Dr. Gray and School Board members Tiffany Kuhn and Sandy Denapolis-Bosarge surprised this year's honorees at their school and presented a plaque to acknowledge their achievements. Additionally, the honorees were recognized publicly at the May 2021 School Board meeting.
The following honorees display outstanding leadership qualities, provide service above and beyond what is expected, and exemplify an attitude of professionalism.
JP Schools Elementary School Outstanding Support Employee of the Year Ann W. Ware is the Assistant Plant Manager at Tom Benson School. Ms. Ware is a core member of the team that has kept the campus of Tom Benson Elementary safe and clean throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Ware has been employed by the district for seven years and is known for her work ethic, positive attitude and smiling face.

JP Schools Middle School Outstanding Support Employee of the Year Warnicia Dillon is a Paraprofessional at Gretna Middle School. Ms. Dillon goes above and beyond to enrich the lives of her students and ensure that every child receives the care attention they deserve. Ms. Dillon has been employed by the district for three years.

JP Schools High School Outstanding Support Employee of the Year Lanell Guilford is an Assistant Custodian Manager at John Ehret High School. Ms. Guilford is well-respected by her colleagues and presents herself as a model employee. Ms. Guilford has been employed by the district for six years.
