Update about Phase 3
Today, Governor John Bel Edwards announced Louisiana will move into Phase 3 on Friday, September 11. As we move to Phase 3, we will continue to follow the health and safety protocols outlined in Phase 2 of our Start Strong Jefferson plan.
As we work on the transition to Phase 3, we will continue to seek input from our stakeholders and collaborate with the Louisiana Department of Education, the Louisiana Department of Health, and local health officials. As a result, we will develop and implement a transition plan that will continue to keep our students and employees safe and prioritize student learning. Although we know that moving into Phase 3 will allow us to add more students into our buildings, it requires logistical changes that must be considered. We will make necessary adjustments and announce any changes in the near future. At this time, our students will continue with their current schedule and instructional model (traditional, hybrid, or virtual).
The move to Phase 3 is proof that our mitigation measures are working. We must continue to stay vigilant for our collective health and safety. Thank you for your support, patience and participation in making the best decisions for our students, families, and employees.
