Jefferson Parish Schools is committed to families beyond the traditional school day. One of the ways the system offers additional support is through a child care program before and after school. This is an optional service provided to families for an additional fee, which covers operational costs and pays child care staff for these additional hours.

The system is changing its fee structure for the 2022-23 school year to ensure schools can continue to appropriately provide this service to families. While daily fees for morning or afternoon care will remain the same, the system will no longer offer discounts for attending every day of the week or for attending both morning and afternoon care. These changes allow the district to combat the staffing shortage by increasing pay for some positions and maintain extended afternoon hours. The following fee structure begins August 2022. 

JP Schools employees will continue to receive a 10% discount. If an employee works child care where their child attends school, their child can attend for $1 per session.
