Fast Forward (JumpStart) Summers

 This program is intended for current Jefferson Parish High School students in grades 9-12.   This program is intended to offer an advanced opportunity for students to learn a skill to increase career readiness. The program will run from June 2 - June 23, 8:15 am - 11:30 am at:

• East Jefferson High School
• John Ehret High School
• Cuillier Career Center (Carpentry and EMR)

Students can earn a stipend for successful completion of the program.

The program will include one Summer Session 
Eligibility criteria:

• 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA in high school courses; good academic standing 
• Cannot have excessive absences
• Cannot have major/multiple disciplinary infractions    
• Students may not have previously attempted/failed the certification course

Course offerings:

• Carpentry Level II

NOTE: Students must have successfully completed Carpentry Level  I in order to qualify for the Level II session.

• Operation Spark Level I (fundamentals of javascript)
• Operation Spark Level II (advanced javascript)

NOTE: Students must have successfully completed Operation Spark I in order to qualify for the Level II session.

• EMR (first responder)  

NOTE: Students must be at least 16 years of age to qualify for the EMR session.

• Digital Media (Graphic Arts)
