2026-2027 JP Schools Naming of Consolidated Schools
During its December meeting, the Jefferson Parish School Board approved the consolidation of Isaac G Joseph and Stella Worley, with the unified campus to operate at the Stella Worley site.
Following this decision, a naming committee was established to submit up to three recommended school names to the Superintendent. This survey is intended to collect stakeholder feedback on those proposed names.
As noted in board policy, "In the event the board votes to consolidate existing schools, all attempts to include the names of each school in the consolidated school will be made." Please cast your vote between 3:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2026, and 3:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Next Steps:
Upon completion of the survey, the naming committee will present the results to the Facilities Committee. At that time the Facilities Committee shall hear comments from the public.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Facilities Committee shall either make a recommendation of support or not at the next scheduled board meeting during committee reports.
