Educator Workforce Retention Stipends

Eligibility is based on employment dates and employee status. This is a multiple tiered stipend. Payout amounts will vary based on employee type and employment dates.

• Teachers- Full Time: Teachers including certified and non-certified, master teachers, librarians, psychologists, educational diagnosticians/audiologists, speech pathologists, counselors, social workers, ROTC teachers, behavioral interventionists, early intervention specialists, ESL Coaches, nurse/nurse practitioners, and OT/PTs. (A full-time teacher is defined as 5 hours a day)
• School Administrators- Full Time: Principals, Assistant Principals, Deans and Director of Cuillier/Connection. (A full-time school administrator is defined as 5 hours a day)
• All Other Employees- Full Time: Employees who do not meet the definition of teacher or school administrator category. Common positions in this category: Paraprofessionals, School custodial staff, school child nutrition staff, bus drivers, bus attendants, interpreters, monitors, school clerical, central office employees. (A full-time employee is defined as 5 hours a day)
• Part Time: Employees who meet the definitions above; however, the employee works less than 5 hours a day. The employee will receive 50% of the amount of the full-time employee. If an employee holds two part time positions that equal 5 hours or more per day then they will be considered a full-time employee for the purposes of this stipend.

If an employee was not in attendance, at any time, during the semester, the employee is not eligible.

You do not need to do anything to receive the stipend.

No, you will only receive one stipend. You will be paid based on the highest category. For example, if you are a teacher who also works as a bus attendant, then will receive the stipend as a teacher not as a bus attendant.

The stipend will be based on the position that is held on September 30, 2024.

For example, on March 10, 2024, an employee was a master teacher (category: teacher). As of September 30, 2024, the employee is an assistant principal (category: school administrator). The employee would be paid a stipend based on the school administrator category. 

For example, on January 1, 2023, an employee was an assistant principal (category: school administrator). As of September 30, 2024, the employee is a teacher (category: teacher). The employee would be paid a stipend based on the teacher category.

Stipends will be paid out via direct deposit to your regular bank account.

Yes, the District is required to withhold taxes and retirement benefits.
