    Dual Enrollment Information

    Students in 11th and 12th grades are eligible to take dual enrollment classes.

    All on-campus dual enrollment and one off-campus dual enrollment class are covered by the school district. There are prerequisites that students must meet to be eligible to take these courses. Some courses have a minimum ACT requirement or a course the student must have demonstrated success in.

    Parents/ guardians and students  must sign a contract to take any dual-enrollment classes. Financial responsibility for classes will be assumed by students/ parents or guardian if a student withdraws.

    Taylor Opportunity Program

    The Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) (Authored by State Representative Charles R. McDonald): a program of state merit-based scholarships for Louisiana residents who attend either one of the Louisiana Public Colleges and Universities, schools that are a part of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, Louisiana approved Proprietary and Cosmetology Schools or institutions that are a part of the Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.

    LCCA ACT Test Prep Online Workshops (Louisiana Center for College  Access)

    In November 2020, Tulane University announced the Louisiana Promise, a commitment to make higher education more accessible for the students of the state of Louisiana. As part of that promise, the Louisiana Center for College Access launched in February 2021 with a mission to provide free college access resources to all Louisiana high school students interested in post-secondary education. The LCCA, in partnership with Advantage Testing, provides free ACT and SAT test prep classes. Additionally, we provide college bus tours and virtual and in-person sessions on a variety of topics ranging from writing an engaging college essay, to securing scholarships and financial aid.

    National Honor Society

    Students will be eligible to join in the Spring of their 10th, 11th and 12th grade years. Students will have access to fill out the Google form via Google Classroom. The requirements are a 3.5 unweighted GPA and a commitment to service, leadership and integrity. NHS will meet monthly and students must commit to attending at least 85% of meetings and participate in NHS goals as set by students. Students in NHS will see a $30 fee to cover club dues and graduation regalia.
