    Greetings everyone!

My name is Terry Johnson and I am honored to be the principal of Harry S Truman School. As principal, it is my desire to continue to motivate, inspire, and propel each and every member of our school community. We will move into our places of continual excellence as students, educators, parent-partners, community-based partners and life-long learners.  Harry S Truman School is bursting with great potential to far exceed expectations to produce learners and leaders who refuse to be average, overcoming obstacles, and blazing trails that make great impacts in our community and beyond.  As I continue my journey with the Harry S Truman School family, I am personally challenged, inspired, and motivated to grow our school by growing children and leaders every day based on their unique learner and teaching profiles.

As we move forward, please know that I welcome and desire your input as we reveal Harry S Truman School as the premier school on the West Bank.   No longer will we be the best kept secret in the Jefferson Parish School District.  Together we can and we will rise to the top because of our commitment to join forces as a united school family, declaring that our children will receive the best education possible. We are in our finest days and the best is yet to come!

    ROARing with PRIDE,

    Mrs. Terry L. Johnson

“Student Achievement! No Exceptions! No Excuses!”

We are excited about the start of our school year and hope that everyone joins in our enthusiasm.
