It would seem that with a simple snap, we arrived at December. However, if we had cameras following our every move as they do on those scripted reality shows, you would see the concerted efforts that all in the Grace King community have made to get to this point. The “4A’s”, remain our guiding principles. They are our principles that we hold steadfast to as  faculty members attend lateral and horizontal cluster meetings, as well as remain after school and during their lunches to offer tutoring. These faculty members have served as sponsors and coaches, to host club meetings and plan campus-wide activities, often remaining after-school and returning on weekends. Our students have conditioned and trained for not only athletics on weekdays, but they have honed their skills on weekends as they prepared for upcoming LEAP 2025 assessments, semester exams and AP mock exams. Everyone helps one another in this community. We help new faculty become seasoned faculty. We are committed to helping our newcomers to the country get a solid foundation in English, core subject matter as well as electives. We’re excited to show the efforts that we make and continue to make at our District Discovery Day on December 12th.

We know of an adage that many people come to understand as they grow older, “though the days are long, the years short”. We realize that the time on this campus with us will be but a fond memory for our students, as they look forward to starring in their personal productions that will feature success in the community, their families and careers. We are delighted to take the many hours of footage created to finish with a spectacular montage of our commitment to the 4As: attendance, attitude, attentiveness and accountability. On December 20th, we’ll sit back and pass the popcorn as the semester comes to a close.

Now and always, I wish you Irish cheer in this season of holidays.

    Ms. Sharon Meggs-Hamilton
