There is a saying that March traditionally enters like a lion, and (hopefully) goes out like a lamb. Although we had an extra day in February as it’s a leap year, I believe that Mother Nature has not given any regard to the calendar and decided it was time for March weather, as March 1st will arrive in blustery fashion. We will continue with English Language Proficiency testing throughout the month as well as offer the administration of the ACT for upperclassmen (11th and 12th graders) on March 12th. Counselors will soon be meeting with underclassmen (current 9th, 10th, and 11th graders) to discuss future course requests for the 2024-2025 academic year. Our Bruin band members are hard at work as they prepare for the upcoming Spring concert in May, and our spring sports team members are eager for warmer weather so that they can get fans in the stands for what will be a banner spring season.
Our seniors are counting down the days until prom on April 12th, senior week, and graduation on May 18th. The faculty and I are looking forward to seeing the seniors as their most glamorous selves, and their growing excitement as they move forward to life after Bonnabel. If you have not yet done so, please check out the Bonnabel High School School Based Health Center. Bonnabel School Based Health Center is a comprehensive healthcare clinic that is housed within our school and provides students with services such as medical and behavioral health services. A key benefit of the SBHC is that it keeps students in school and parents at work and reduces emergency room visits. There are no out-of-pocket costs for any student, insured or uninsured.
In order for a student to receive services, an electronic consent must be fully completed by a parent/guardian or a paper consent must be printed, completed, and returned to the school office or the Bonnabel SBHC.
Visit https://www.jpschools.org/domain/1247 to learn more about service offered through the Bonnabel School Based Health Center and to have access to electronic and paper copies of consents. You can also scan the following QR code for more information and/or the paper copies of the consent.
Don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time will begin on Sunday, March 10th!
