Jefferson Parish Schools April 30 Sales Tax Renewal

  • A half-cent today. $57 million for Jefferson Parish students tomorrow.

Jefferson Parish citizens will be asked to vote on a half-cent sales tax renewal on April 30 that helps Jefferson Parish Schools meet the needs of our children. This half-cent renewal supports foundational needs like school counselors and social workers, salaries and benefits for teachers and staff, updated learning materials and technology, and the maintenance, safety, and upkeep of our aging facilities.

This half-cent sales tax is a renewal. It is not a new tax and there is no additional cost to taxpayers.

It invests $57 million into children for things like safe school buildings, school counselors and social workers, and hiring and retaining the best teachers and staff.

    How can you help?
