Jefferson Summer Bridge
June 8 - 30, 2021
Our goal is to provide students with the learning they need to be successful. Due to school closures in March 2020 and pandemic-related learning disruptions, students may have experienced learning losses. This year, our teachers, support staff, and administrators have stepped up to meet our students where they are and provide quality teaching and learning. However, it is important that we continue to provide accelerated learning opportunities to students this summer.
To that end, we are excited to announce Jefferson Summer Bridge, a free, in-person summer learning program offered by Jefferson Parish Schools.
Jefferson Summer Bridge is designed to provide targeted groups of students with accelerated learning and growth during the summer months in a fun learning environment. It will be a full day program that includes a combination of math and ELA acceleration, enrichment opportunities that develop the whole child, and support for students’ social and emotional needs. The program will run from June 8-June 30 and will be open to selected students currently in grades K-7. The teachers and leaders at our schools know their students best, so schools across our district have been cohorted to create a community approach to planning and implementing our summer program.
Selected families will receive more information in the coming weeks about Jefferson Summer Bridge. If your child(ren) is invited to participate, we hope you take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to engage in accelerated learning and growth in a fun environment this summer.
