Welcome, and thank you for your interest in covering Jefferson Parish Schools athletics!
To protect our student-athletes, maintain a safe and professional game environment, and provide consistent access for approved media, JP Schools requires all photographers, videographers, reporters, and broadcast crews to request and wear official JP Schools Athletics Media Credentials while on school campuses, athletic fields, stadiums, and other athletic facilities during practices and competitions.
Media credentials help identify approved media representatives and ensure that coverage can take place while prioritizing student safety, privacy, and the integrity of athletic events.
Who should apply:
Media credentials should be requested by:
- Working reporters for print, online, or broadcast publications
- Freelance journalists covering an athletic event for an accredited media organization
- Photographers or videographers providing editorial coverage or working with a licensed broadcast
- Representatives of college scouting services or recognized recruiting organizations with prior approval
Sports agents, sports agencies, and sports marketing agencies are not considered members of the media and will not be approved for media access.

Step 2: Await Confirmation
- Applicants will receive an email confirming or denying their credential request.
- Approved applicants will receive additional information regarding credential pickup, event access, and any applicable requirements.
- Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
Deadlines & Turnaround
High-Profile Games & One-Time Requests
For high-profile athletic events or one-time game coverage, media representatives should contact:

- Athletics Director, Carl Nini (carl.nini@jpschools.org)
Requests should be submitted at least 72 hours before the athletic event whenever possible.
Same-Day Requests
Same-day credential requests are rarely granted and require direct communication with Dr. Kaela Lewis (kaela.lewis@jpschools.org). Advance requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for review and coordination.
Credential Rules & Media Guidelines
To ensure fairness, student safety, and an appropriate environment for competition, all credentialed media must follow these guidelines while on JP Schools property or at rented athletic facilities.
Broadcasts & live streaming
- Live broadcasts and livestreams require pre-approval
- Cable/large-truck broadcasts may require additional clearance and coordination with school facilities
Denial or revocation
Jefferson Parish Schools reserves the right to deny or revoke credentials at any time for safety, privacy, or policy violations. Credentialed media are expected to maintain professionalism and respect for students and school property.
