There is no additional cost to taxpayers. This is a 10-year renewal and was originally approved by voters in 2004. 

Jefferson Parish Schools needs to maintain basic operations for our children to ensure we can continue to build on our 2028 strategic plan and improve student outcomes. Jefferson Parish citizens will be asked to vote on a property tax renewal on April 27 that helps Jefferson Parish Schools meet the needs of our children.

Everyone who is a property owner in Jefferson Parish will pay the property tax.

The average homeowner of a $150,000 home currently pays about 14 cents a day or $51 a year on this millage.

When our students do better in school, our community is more likely to have a higher quality of life, including a stronger economy, quality workforce, healthier communities, higher property values, and safer neighborhoods. Great schools are a smart investment for Jefferson Parish.

Election day is Saturday, April 27. Take advantage of the early voting period. Early voting is April 13-20.
