    • Move that the Jefferson Parish School Board endorse and adopt the attendance zone maps recommended by the Superintendent at the April 24, 2023 Special Session effective for the 2023-2024 school year.

    Second Reading Authored by Mr. Steven Guitterrez:

    • Move that the Jefferson Parish School Board add an additional police detail to support the existing Kenner schools at a detail rate using General fund monies.

    • Direct the Superintendent and his staff to develop a Military style High School that will be owned and operated by the Jefferson Parish School System. This proposed High School will allow students from anywhere in Jefferson Parish to attend for the 2024-2025 school year.

    • Direct the Superintendent to present information about the particulars of increasing the pay for what the consolidation plan would do for expected pay for teachers and support staff in the school system.

  • First Reading authored by Mr. Clay Moise:

    • Move to authorize the sale or other disposition of the declared surplus property found in Committee Report 8.2 following demolition by first having an appraisal preformed of each by a certified appraiser of each to be selected by the Board or the Facilities Department from the following appraisers: Henry Tatje, William Bladwin and Wayne Sandoz.
    • Move that following the declared surplus property found in Committee Report 8.2 be sold or disposed of through the use of a licensed real estate broker to be selected pursuant to the applicable state statues and Jefferson Parish School Board policy DFL, which includes that the selection be based upon a request for quotes/qualifications process based upon the minimum qualifications found therein.

    • Direct the Superintendent to conduct a feasibility study for providing stipends for Nationally Board Certified Professionals, employed by the Jefferson Parish School System and necessary structure for the administration of such a program and report back at the June meeting.

    •  Motion to direct the Superintendent to study the feasibility of a Military School owned and operated by Jefferson Parish and report to the Board before the end of school year 2024. This proposed High School will allow students from anywhere in Jefferson Parish to attend.
    • Any spending above 50K to be spent by the Jefferson Parish School System is to be done through RFP or RFQ whichever process RFP or RFQ is to be utilized as the procurement rules apply.

    • Direct the Superintendent to report monthly on the progress of surplus properties, including updates on negotiations, razing, and/or conditions of the properties.
