Khaki uniform bottoms (pants, walking shorts, shirts, skirts, skorts, jumpers and/or capris) . Shorts must be walking shorts that extend to the knee. Skorts, jumpers, and skirts may be no more than three inches above the knee. Pants must be worn at the waist and be an appropriate size. No baggy pants or overalls are allowed.
Forest green polo shirts for grades first through fifth and purple polo shirts for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten with collars and the Pittman logo. The shirt must be tucked in at all times and have the “Pittman” logo. White undershirts are allowed, but sleeves are not to hang past the uniform shirt.
School shoes consist of an athletic shoe suitable for physical education class.
No hoods are allowed to be worn in the building. Sweatshirts, sweaters, or fleeces should be forest green only. Coats and jackets should be labeled with the child’s first and last name.
Students are discouraged from wearing jewelry that poses a safety risk or distraction. No large hoop earrings permitted.
Violation of the policy may result in the following consequences:
- 1st offense: Verbal warning
- 2nd offense: Phone Call Home
- 3rd offense: Request Parent Conference
- 4th offense: Notify Administrator
Uniform consequences are separate from discipline consequences. Pursuant to R.S.17:416(J)(1), students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade shall not be suspended or expelled from school or suspended from riding on any school bus for a uniform violation that is not tied to willful disregard of school policies (willful disobedience).
