If your student attended Thomas Jefferson Academy for the previous school year, you do not have to do anything to continue bus transportation for this school year. Your student will be assigned to a bus and the driver will typically call to give parents the bus stop information the week before school starts.
If your student attended a Thomas Jefferson feeder school such as Gretna No 2 Academy, Ray St Pierre Academy, or Ruppel Academy for the previous school year, you do not have to do anything to continue bus transportation for this school year. Your student will be assigned to a bus and the driver will typically call to give parents the bus stop information the week before school starts.
If your student attended a JP School that was not a feeder school or a school outside of Jefferson Parish for the previous school year, you should call the Thomas Jefferson Academy Office after the summer break at 504-363-4300 between 7:00 am - 3:00 pm to request bus transportation for this school year.
If you have not heard from the your student's bus driver and it is two days or less before school begins, you may call in to the Office at 504-363-4300 between 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and someone from the office will check the status for you.
It is important to mention that bus stops for students are hub based as students from all over the metro attend our school. This means the bus stop assigned to your student will not necessarily be close to home or the same stop your student had the previous year. If you live on the Eastbank of Jefferson Parish, you will have to provide transportation for your student. Bus Stop decisions are made by JP Schools, not Thomas Jefferson Academy.
