Thomas Jefferson Academy Athletic Department
The TJ Athletic Department offers the following middle school sports:
Basketball (girls and boys)
Soccer (girls and boys)
While there is no Middle School Wrestling or Track, 7th and 8th graders can tryout for the high school sports. If a 7th or 8th grader would like to tryout for a high school sport, they must contact that coach. They cannot play the same sport on the middle and high school teams concurrently.
In order for a student to tryout for an athletic team, they must have a valid physical and medical history form turned in to the Athletics Office. This must be on the official LHSAA Medical History Evaluation form that can be obtained in the front office or you may print the form below.
Athletic Physicals will be provided by Ochsner this Saturday, April 24, at 8:00 - 9:30 am. The physicals will be held at the Ochsner Sports Medicine Clinic at 1221 S Clearview Pkwy (Elmwood).
Cost of physicals is $15 and must be paid in cash (exact amount) at the door. Money made from these physicals will be donated back to the school to offset the cost of athletic training supplies.
Please note that physicals are needed for spring and summer workouts, so please check the date of your last physical to be sure it is not expired or will not expire soon. The physical is good for 13 months from the date listed on the bottom of the physical.
It is not required to attend the physicals through Ochsner, it is just a convenient way to get a thorough exam from Sports Medicine Professionals.

signed by a parent with the top of the form (Medical History) completely filled in and $15 cash.
The Thomas Jefferson Athletic Department requires an online registration process for all athletes. This online registration eliminates many forms that are required for athletic participation.
This year, the district is requiring all athletes and parents to complete a COVID-19 Waiver. This waiver is included on FamilyID.
FamilyID must be completed BEFORE a student can participate in any tryouts, conditioning or practices for any sport.

In addition to the online registration, all athletes must have an up to date physical turned in to the athletic office. Once a student makes the team, they must also pay a yearly, non refundable $25 Athletic Fee. This fee can be paid by cash or check to Coach Cormier (Athletic Director) or on the new JP School Cash Online system. If a student plays more than one sport, they only pay the Athletic fee once.
