Student Government assists in decision making for Thomas Jefferson Academy events and is a recognized member of LASC. Student Government consists of elected members chosen by the student body. These students act as representatives and these representatives serve as a liaison from the student body to the administration. Student Government also serves as a leadership group that represents Thomas Jefferson at external school functions and within the community. These representatives will meet with other Student Councils at different schools across Jefferson Parish to incorporate leadership skills, gain methods for promoting school spirit, and fundraising to help charitable non-profit organizations.

Mission Ignition
Mission Ignition is an annual United Way service hour competition between local high schools. The goal of this friendly competition is to be the high school with the most service hours by the end of the competition. We are encourage all students to participate in as many events as possible. The benefit is not just for bragging rights as a school, but the competition has an important impact by helping those in need.

Club Rush is held in the Fall during lunch. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the various clubs we have on campus. The students are able to browse exhibits under the breezeway from all of the TJA clubs, ask questions, and learn how to join.
