    Erik Kelt- Principal

    Erik Kelt graduated Cum Laude from Springfield College, earning Bachelor of Science degrees in business management and sports management. Realizing that education was his true passion, he went on to receive his Master’s degree in childhood education from Dowling College where he graduated with high honors. Currently, Mr. Kelt is enrolled in Northeastern University where he is working on his Doctoral degree in educational leadership and curriculum.  Mr. Kelt graduated from multiple leadership programs including Leading Educators, Emerging Leaders, New Leaders, and holds a Certificate in School Leadership from Harvard University.  He is a level 2 certified educational leader and holds a teacher leader endorsement from the Louisiana Department of Education.  Erik is in his ninth year at Chateau, and loves to celebrate our students when they show R.E.A.L. Community Values. Mr. Kelt and his wife Devin have three children, Alexander, Jackson, and Michaela.

    Erika Russo Russel- Assistant Principal

    Erika Russell graduated from The University of New Orleans in 2015 with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Secondary Education of Social Studies and began teaching in Jefferson Parish. In 2018, Mrs. Russell graduated from The University of Holy Cross with her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. Since then, she served as a Master Teacher until 2022 when she joined the Chateau Estates family. Mrs. Russell is a Social Studies Content Leader in the district and a member of the Disciplinary Policy Review Committee. Her goal for students is for them to leave everyday with a new piece of knowledge and a smile on their face.

    Rachelle Louviere - Dean of Student Services

    Chateau Estates School Teacher of the Year 2019

    Rachelle Louviere graduated Cum Laude from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in accounting in December 2010. However, despite her interest in business, Rachelle has always found joy in working with children and has years of job experience in a classroom setting. After working as an auditor for an accounting firm, she decided to fulfill her life-long dream of teaching. She went to the University of New Orleans to pursue her Master’s degree in early childhood education and graduated in May 2015. During her free time, Rachelle enjoys performing in and watching musical theater, travelling, painting, yoga, and spending time with her family, and friends. For Rachelle, learning has always been the gateway to an adventure, one that she is thrilled to take her students on. She believes that all children should have access to an education that is innovative, engaging, and inspiring. She agrees with William Butler Yeats who said, “education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”

    Dayanira Flores- General Clerk

    Miss Flores attended Grand Canyon University and received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English in 2017. She has been at Chateau Elementary School since 2019 as an ESL Paraprofessional. Miss Flores is fluent in English and Spanish. She is currently studying to become fluent in Portuguese. Ms. Flores helps students attain proficiency in English and education.

    Master Teachers

    Ranmali Desilva- Master Teacher

    Ranmali DeSilva is a native of Metairie, where she attended Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade in Jefferson Parish Public Schools. Ms. DeSilva received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Urban Policy from Loyola University of New Orleans, and later earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University of Shreveport. Ms. DeSilva began her teaching career serving in Orleans Parish Public Schools as a literacy interventionist, and she has taught English Language Arts in Jefferson Parish over the past eight years. Ms. DeSilva currently serves as a Literacy Instructional Coach for the national certification program, The New Teacher Project. She additionally acts as the district-wide Content Leader for English I in Jefferson Parish. This year, Ms. DeSilva launched a literacy intervention program with Jefferson Parish’s Juvenile Justice Complex, in which she implements restorative reading practices with juveniles who are currently placed in corrections. Ms. DeSilva has completed over 2,000 hours of community service in public education reform locally.     Jenna Purcello- Master Teacher

    Jenna Purcello was born and raised in Kenner, Louisiana. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Orleans in December of 2007. Ms. Purcello was in the Honors Educational Sorority, Kappa Delta Epsilon. Throughout college, she worked as a substitute teacher for Jefferson Parish Schools as well as teacher aide for a Montessori preschool. After graduation, she began her teaching career in Jefferson Parish teaching Second Grade. Soon after, she moved to Austin, Texas where she taught Second grade for five years. As she made her way back to her hometown, she taught third grade for a year and then fourth grade for three years. Her passion for teaching grew as did her passion for coaching and leadership. She then became a Master Teacher in Jefferson Parish and has been for the last three years. Her drive for her students and her teachers is unsurpassable. Throughout this time, Ms. Purcello has pursued her Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She will graduate in December of 2022. Throughout her career she has served as grade chair, content leader, and Instructional Leadership Team member. She is trained in Conscious Discipline and restorative practices classroom management styles which provides a proven, high quality learning environment for students. She is excited to continue her career as Master Teacher at Chateau and is excited to be a part of the team. She enjoys spending time with her family and her son, and in her spare time she enjoys reading, watching movies, working out, yoga, and cooking. Her philosophy is that ALL students can grow emotionally and academically when given the opportunity.

    Ashley Deeks

    Ashley Deeks was born in Mobile, Alabama and has lived in Metairie for most of her life. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from University of New Orleans in 2008. This is her sixth year teaching Special Education pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. Teaching has always been her lifelong dream. Ashley is the chairperson for the United Way campaign. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and five dogs including a Mastiff and Great Dane. She also loves the outdoors and art and crafts. Ashley is excited about the new school year.

    Kyle Radish

    Mrs. Radish grew up in Ohio, and moved to New Orleans in high school. Subsequently, she graduated both NOCCA and Ben Franklin high schools. Because of these experiences, she is a firm believer in the vital importance of excellent public education. She has been teaching since 2003 and has been at Chateau Estates since 2019. She has a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a Master's degree in Education in Early Childhood Education, with a concentration in Gifted Education. She attended both UNO and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), which is her homeroom college. Mrs. Radish enjoys biking with her sons and husband, scouting, and reading long novels.

    Jennifer Sutton

    Jennifer Sutton graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a BS in Early Childhood Education.  She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.  She has graduated from multiple leadership programs such as ReNew’s Aspiring Leader Program and Leading Educators.  She has spent decades working with young children as well as coaching other early childhood educators. Jennifer was born and raised in Jefferson Parish, where she currently resides with her husband and two sons who attend Jefferson Parish Schools.  She loves to work with curriculum and materials and is always looking for the best way to reach each student.  She is passionate about learning and books and loves to give books away.  Jennifer can’t wait for a fantastic school year at Chateau Estates!

    Kindergarten

    Katelyn Blanke- Teacher Leader Fellow

    Katelyn Blanke graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. She graduated with the honor of Summa Cum Laude and received the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Faculty Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Education Major and the Academic Excellence Award. Katelyn completed her student teaching at Chateau Estates Elementary and has been teaching for 8 1/2 years. Currently, Katelyn is the Kindergarten department chair and a member of the school's Instructional Leadership Team. Katelyn enjoys watching her students learn and grow as they discover new things throughout the school year. She and her husband live in New Orleans and love their city. In her free time, Katelyn enjoys being with her family and friends, reading, playing volleyball, going bike riding, and playing board games.

    Virginia Guise

    Virginia Guise graduated from McNeese State University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She has taught Pre-K-3 thru 5th grades for the past 20 years. She loves teaching Kindergarten at Chateau Estates Elementary. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, cooking, and visiting with friends..

    Jennifer Wilson

    Chateau Estates School Teacher of the Year 2007

    Jennifer Wilson graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in Early Childhood Education. She has been teaching at Chateau Estates Elementary for the past twenty-one years. Mrs. Wilson was named “Teacher of the Year” in 2007. She also has served as the PBIS Chairperson for the last fourteen years. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her husband, their six year old daughter, family and friends.  She also loves to read, travel and spend time at her family camp. Her vision statement is “A place where children feel safe, loved and are engaged in learning.”

    Anne Ehrhardt

    Anne Ehrhardt grew up in Metairie, and attended Alice Birney, J.D. Meisler, and Grace King schools. Graduating from the University of New Orleans, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education. This is her 22nd year teaching and her 5th at Chateau Estates. For 16 years of her teaching career, she has taught first grade and currently serves as the first grade chair. When she is not in the classroom, she is enjoying time with her family and friends.     Blair Gonsoulin

    Blair Woods Gonsoulin was born and raised in Assumption Parish. She graduated from Nicholls State University with a bachelors in History in 2016. She soon found her passion was in education. This is Blair's 5th year teaching at Chateau, her second year teaching first grade, and 6th year teaching. When she's not in the classroom, Blair can be found with her husband and daughter. Blair enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and going on vacation (especially to Disney.) She is very excited to work with her First grade team!

    Shannon Stringer

    Shannon Stringer was born and raised in Harahan, Louisiana. She later attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. This is her fifth year teaching 1st grade at Chateau Estates. Ms. Stringer has always wanted to be a teacher ever since she was a little girl. She loves being able to live out her childhood dream. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, cooking, playing with her dog, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite place to be besides in the classroom is on a beach. Ms. Stringer is very excited for a great school year!

    Second Grade

    Kelly Callahan

    Kelly was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana. She then attended LSU, graduating with a Bachelors in Public Relations and a minor in Business. After a couple years working in PR she realized she had a passion for working with children. She then moved on to working as a Behavior Technician with Butterfly Effects for a short time, then a nanny. She then decided to go back to school and get her Masters in Teaching at UNO. She will graduate in January 2023. Kelly is very excited for her first year of teaching and couldn’t be more thrilled to join the staff of Chateau.

    Elisabeth Grass

    Elisabeth Grass graduated from Humboldt State University in California with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography.  Then she traveled around the world for many years as a cartographer, making maps for apps.  She has traveled to 35 countries.  She eventually settled in New Orleans and started a family. While raising her daughter, she realized how much she enjoyed working with children.  She went back to school and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of New Orleans.  This will be her fourth year teaching second grade for JPSS.  She enjoys learning about new people, places, and things.  Her hobbies include swimming, reading, cooking, fixing up old houses, and long family road trips.

    Alycia Johnson

    Alycia Johnson graduated from Delgado community college with an Associates of Science in Graphic Design. She worked in the field for 2 years before realizing that was not her path in life and upon reflection discovered her love of teaching. Alycia went back to school and completed her Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies focused in psychology and sociology with the idea of being an Art teacher. After completing all of her certification requirements, she spent her first two years teaching 4th grade before making it to Chateau for 2nd grade.  Alycia moved to Louisiana in 2012 to be close to her family and attend college and has enjoyed watching her younger sisters grow up. She is an avid reader and enjoys her free time with a good book, gardening, painting, and of course preparing for her students' educational journeys.

    Wendy Hodgson

    Wendy Hodgson was born and raised on the Westbank of New Orleans, and has lived in Metairie for the past several years. She graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. After a few years of working in the business field, she decided that she wanted to work with children. She decided to further her education by attending the Alternative Teacher Certification program at the University of New Orleans. She has been a certified teacher in elementary education for the past 15 years and is very passionate about her job. Wendy has taught mainly 3rd grade in both private and public schools and is very excited to join the 2nd grade team at Chateau Elementary. She is looking forward to a great school year!

    Kacey Albert

    Kacey Albert is originally from Houston, Texas and moved to Louisiana after high school. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 2011 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Grades 1 - 5. This will be Kacey’s 12th year teaching. Her mission is to teach to instill a love for learning in all of her students. Her wish is that her students become life-long learners. Kacey has been married to her husband, Brent, for seven years and together they have two beautiful daughters, Riley and Remy. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family and reading a good book.

    Amber Crews

    Amber Crews is the 3rd grade ELA teacher. She is a proud product of Jefferson Parish Public Schools! She attended Chateau, Roosevelt, and graduated from Bonnabel High School c/o 2011. She then attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she earned her elementary education degree. She student taught at Chateau in 4th grade Science and Social Studies with Ms. Durant in 2016. Prior to teaching 3rd grade, Ms. Crews taught 2nd grade for 2.5 years. She is also ESL certified and couldn’t imagine teaching anything or being anywhere else! Ms. Crews has 2 children, Mia (4) and Jason (3). She enjoys shopping, getting her nails done, and relaxing with family and friends in her free time.     Heidi Guidry- Teacher Leader Fellow

    Chateau Estates School Teacher of the Year 2020

    Mrs. Guidry was born and raised in Kenner, Louisiana. She began her diploma pursuit at the University of New Orleans, but Hurricane Katrina ensured she completed coursework at the University of Nevada-Reno as well.  She graduated with honors in 2009 from the University of New Orleans, with a Bachelor's degree in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education and recently earned her teacher mentor certification through the Louisiana Department of Education and NIET. Mrs. Guidry currently serves on Chateau's leadership team and founded Guidry's Gardening Club (G²).  She has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 2nd through 5th grades, as well as administering reading interventions to scholars in 1st-5th grades.  In her spare time, Mrs. Guidry enjoys spending time with her husband, stepson, and daughter, as well as the rest of her extended family.  She enjoys reading, gardening, traveling - any adventure imaginable!  She is looking forward to a great 5th year at Chateau (and her 13th year teaching) with her 3rd grade scholars, who will learn and live the motto "It's kind of fun to do the impossible!" ~Walt Disney

    Kristin Ducote

    Kristin Ducote was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, she currently lives in Kenner, LA. She attended Haynes Academy for middle through high school and Southeastern Louisiana University for college. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education 1-5 in 2016. She has been teaching for 5 years. This will be her second year at Chateau and 1st year in 2nd grade. Mrs. Ducote can be found spending time with friends and family, working out, taking vacations to Disney World, or doing something outdoors.

    Kristen Schabel

    Kristen Schabel grew up in Sunnyvale, Texas and just recently moved to Louisiana. Ms. Schabel graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and went on to teach 4th grade in Texas. This will be her third year teaching 4th grade but her first year teaching at Chateau. She is excited to share her passion for education and is ready for a great school year!

    Lesa Smith Course

    Mrs. Lesa Course is a native of Miami, Florida. She recently got married in December 2020 and moved to Louisiana. She taught in Miami for 16 years in 2nd through 5th grade. This is her second year teaching in JPPSS at Chateau Estates Elementary School. She is going into her 18th year of teaching. Her passion for teaching allows her the opportunity to enhance students' creativity and to help them to excel as they move forward into higher education. Mrs. Course enjoys spending time with her husband, fishing, riding bikes and walking on the lake, and eating lots of seafood. She looks forward to another awesome school year at Chateau.

    Whitney Rodriguez

    Whitney Rodriguez was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana, where she currently lives. She attended St. Christopher Elementary School and Mount Carmel Academy. She lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she attended Louisiana State University. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Grades 1-5 and has her Level 2 teaching certificate. She is currently enrolled in the Master's Program at UNO for Counselor Education. She taught 3rd grade at Woodland West in Harvey, Louisiana for three years. She then taught K-5 STEM classes at Audubon Elementary. She is excited to be teaching 5th grade Science and ELA at Chateau Estates. She believes that all children can learn and strives to promote a safe, fun, engaging learning environment. She loves coffee, walking at the park, reading and spending time with her two, new baby nieces and baby nephew.

    Sixth Grade

    Robin Bourgeois

    Ms. Braun is born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana who attended Archbishop Chapelle

    for High School and then played collegiate golf on a full scholarship at University of Central

    Arkansas. Ms. Braun will soon be Mrs. Kinsella, as she is getting married on October 29, 2022.

    Ms. Braun has been teaching at Chateau Estates since 2014 and thoroughly loves teaching

    Math and Science. Outside of school, Ms. Braun is a golf instructor and runs her own junior golf

    clinics. She also loves fishing, playing tennis, and beating her fiance at golf :) This is her 3rd

    year co teaching with Ms. Bourgeois, and they are the cheese to each other’s macaroni.

    Brooke Braun

    Ms. Bourgeois has been teaching at Chateau Estates for five years. Having taught all grade

    levels from second to eight, Ms. Bourgeois really enjoys life in the middle! She graduated from

    The University of New Orleans in 2008. Ms. B, as the kids call her, enjoys watching her son play

    baseball, learning TikTok dances, and making her students feel welcome. This is her 3rd year

    co-teaching with Ms. Braun, and they are the peanut butter to each other's jelly.

    Seventh Grade

    Stephanie Durant- Teacher Leader Fellow

    Chateau Estates School Teacher of the Year 2013

    Stephanie Durant was born in Louisiana, and has attended both Southern University and Xavier University. She taught at Audubon Elementary School for two years, and has been teaching at Chateau Estates Elementary for over ten years. Prior to teaching, Stephanie lived in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where she studied classical piano at the international music school, Engelbert Humperdinck Musikschule. While living in Germany, she experienced two history-making events: the breaking down of the Berlin wall and the explosion of Chernobyl in the Ukraine. She received a degree in General Studies at the University of Maryland European Division. Stephanie loves to travel, and has visited 3 continents, 11 countries and 21 states within the United States. Her goal is to travel to all seven continents. She also enjoys music, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Stephanie has served as Department Chair, Sally Ride Coordinator, and a mentor teacher. Stephanie is currently part of the New Leaders Program and has her Black Belt in Common Core. In addition, she has been named Chateau Elementary’s 2013 Teacher of the Year!

    Mariam Zayed

    Mariam Zayed graduated from Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2015.  This is her sixth year teaching, but her first year at Chateau.  She began her teaching career at Riverdale High, where she taught Science for 5 years.  Her most favorite part of teaching is getting to know the students and building relationships with each one.  Mariam has two children and loves spending time with them.  She also enjoys baking, watching movies, and relaxing at home.

    Eighth Grade

    Zachary Barton

    Mr. Barton is a transplant to the greater New Orleans area hailing from Georgia! He graduated from Georgia State University in 2017. He has taught 4th, 7th and 8th Grade Mathematics and will be our Math and Science teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. In addition to being an educator, Mr. Barton has an energetic son who will be four in the fall! In his spare time between teaching and parenting, he enjoys sports, tv shows, and podcasts that all range in a wide variety. Finally, his outlook on teaching is that every individual within a classroom should be treated with respect and be humble learners because we, including himself, should strive to be lifelong learners who are constantly bettering themselves.

    Brittany Schiro- ESL Coach

    Chateau Estates School Teacher of the Year 2014

    Brittany Schiro graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in December of 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Brittany did her student teaching at Chateau and accepted a teaching position at the school in January, after graduation. In January of 2011, she enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana State University to complete her certification in English as a Second Language. Currently, Brittany is the ESL Coach.  Since October of 2011, Brittany has been the Title I Coordinator. She is also a member of the Instructional Leadership Team and the School Improvement Plan Committee. In her free time, Brittany loves spending time with her husband and two children, visiting with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new classroom ideas on Pinterest.

    Fabiola Marrero

    Fabiola Marrero was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her bachelor's degree at the University of New Orleans and is working on her Master's degree in English as a Second Language at ULM. She has been teaching since 2020, and this is her second year as part of the Chateau Estates family. She enjoys gaming, traveling, watching movies/TV shows, and trying out new restaurants. She is so excited for a great school year!

    Marla Dorsey

    Marla Dorsey graduated from Ashford University with a bachelor's degree in Social Science with a concentration in Education, then later received her Master's degree in Education from Ashford University as well. She started her teaching career in Orleans Parish Public Schools as a first-grade teacher, where she taught for five years. She was one of the 2020 recipients of the (NOETA) New Orleans Excellence in Teaching Award Grand Winners in NOLA Public Schools. She joined the Chateau family in 2022 and currently serves as an ESL Teacher. In her spare time when she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children. Mrs. Dorsey is very excited for this upcoming school year!

    Victoria Santamaria- Special Education Department Chair- Teacher Leader Fellow

    Ms. Santamaria was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she received her Bachelors in Science for Elementary Education with a certification in Mild/Moderate Special Education. Ms. Santamaria did her student teaching at Chateau Estates Elementary where she gained first hand the experience needed to be an effective educator.     Caroline Doell

    Born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana, Ms. Doell’s appreciation for teaching began at a young age. In 2021, Ms. Doell earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Holy Cross and later became a part of the Chateau Elementary team! Before teaching at Chateau, she acquired student-teaching and paraprofessional experience working with pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th grade age levels in regular and special education capacities. Ms. Doell enjoys spending her free time reading, playing with her dog, journaling, and being with her family. She is thrilled to be at Chateau and cannot wait to see what this school year brings!

    Brett Moore

    Brett Moore grew up just outside of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He graduated from The University of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. His wife and he moved to the New Orleans area in the summer of 2017. He received his teaching certificate at the University of Holy Cross once he moved to the area and decided he wanted to become an educator. He has taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades and worked with the Dual Language Learning program. In his free time, he enjoys reading, playing video games, and spending time with his wife, a 3rd grade teacher at Metairie Academy, and his son, Adam. He has taught at Chateau for a year now and is excited to see what the new year brings.

    Kim Thomas-Hall

    Kim Hall is an experienced Special Education Educator with a demonstrated history of working with students with disabilities. Skilled in Coaching, Educational Consulting, Lesson Planning, Educational Technology, and Instructional Design.  Kim is a strong educational services professional with a Master of Education (MEd) focused in Special Education and Elementary Education from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge. With an educational career that has spanned over 20 years, Kim has assisted students with disabilities in Iberville Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, as well as Detroit, Michigan. Born and raised in South Louisiana, Kim is a mother of two children, Nyla (23) and Byron Jr. (21). She lives in New Orleans with her husband Byron, Nyla, and Mother-in-law, Celie Hall. Her hobbies include: crochet, knitting, photography and drawing.

    Angela Williams

    Angela Williams received a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans where she also earned her Bachelor of General Studies degree.  Ms. Williams is a highly qualified educator who possesses over 15 years of experience in the field of education.  As a teacher in New Orleans public and charter schools, Ms. Williams served as grade level chairperson for 3rd and 4th grades, 504 coordinator, mentor teacher to new teachers, and after school program coordinator.  She holds Louisiana certification for grades 1-8. Prior to teaching elementary school, Ms. Williams taught preschool children for five years at the University of New Orleans Children’s Center. She also served as the center’s summer camp director for a year.  Ms. Williams is a life-long learner who continues to grow professionally each year. She has successfully completed training in educational programs such as Achievement Network, Achieve 3000 blended learning program, and Evans Newton Incorporated Target Teach.  Ms. Williams has also received professional development in Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) from Pearson Education, Inc., and instructional leadership training from Leading Educators, an organization that works to develop teacher-leaders in order to increase student achievement.     Angelle Bellock

    Angelle Bellock is a St. Rose native. She graduated from the University of New Orleans with a degree in Communications. This will be her 9th year teaching and second year in the P.E. Department at Chateau. In her free time, Angelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends, trying new restaurants, listening to music or just relaxing at home.

    Samuel Dunn

    After joining the staff in January, the 2022-23 school year will be his first full year at Chateau. Coach Sam is a lifelong resident of Metairie. He holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a master's in Mineral Economics and Operation Research. After starting as a PE teacher in 2005, he is very excited to be working in physical education again for the first time since 2008. He has experience coaching baseball and football at the high school and middle school levels. He served as youth and middle school athletic director and has coached every sport imaginable.

    Andrew Scherer

    Coach Andrew Scherer was born and raised in Mandeville, Louisiana. He is a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University where he received a degree in Mass Communications. After a year as a TV Reporter in Mississippi, Coach Andrew returned home to become a high school baseball coach & work on his teaching certification. Coach Andrew has taught PE for the past two years in Jefferson Parish & is excited for his first school year at Chateau. In his free time, Coach Andrew enjoys spending time with his daughter Mia & his family & friends. Coach Andrew can be found watching any & all sports, especially golf, which he loves to play. Coach Andrew is excited for his first full year at Chateau!

    Sarah Langley- ABIT Chair, PBIS Lead, 504 Chair, Technology Coordinator

    Sarah Langley graduated as valedictorian from Ovey Comeaux High School in Lafayette, LA. She attended LSU and CSULA but returned to her hometown to complete her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Performing Arts-Theatre from UL-Lafayette, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Sarah co-founded a theatre company called the Riveters and still enjoys returning to Lafayette to support the local arts whenever possible.  While working at the World War II Museum, Sarah earned her Masters Degree in Arts Administration from the University of New Orleans with a 4.0 GPA. As a lover of learning, she was drawn to the world of education and earned certifications in 6-12 ELA, 6-12 Speech Communications, Algebra 1, and Educational Leadership. Sarah worked for two years as a Master Teacher and is now returning to the Library for her ninth year in education. She is known for her affinity for Harry Potter and hats, but Sarah strives to make humor, hard-work, and kindness what makes her memorable to her students and peers. Outside of work, Sarah loves to experience new foods, travel, and do woodworking projects. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband of ten years, Lyle, and her daughters Mazi and Rosie. She’s proud to be a part of the Chateau team and live Ubuntu to its fullest.

    Nicole Cook-Ficaro - Counselor

    Nicole Cook-Ficaro was born and raised in Southeastern Indiana.  She came to New Orleans in 1999 where she attended college at the University of New Orleans earning a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies with a minor in Psychology.  Then she went on and earned a Master’s in Counseling Education.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana.  Nicole counseled at Cabrini High School in New Orleans for the first 11 years of her career and this is her second year at Chateau Estates. Nicole and her husband Jason have twins, Bevyn and Brayson.  Outside of school Nicole has a passion for supporting children and their families who have faced a cancer diagnosis, helping those who are coping with grief from the loss of a loved one, spending time with her family and pets, and she enjoys being outdoors.

    Gil D'Aquin - Talented Art

    Gil D’Aquin graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College with a Bachelor’s in Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1996. He studied fine arts at the University of New Orleans, and The New Orleans Art Institute. He has taught in the Jefferson Parish School System from 1997 till the present. He is an Itinerant Art Teacher in the Talented in Visual Arts Program. With his students, he enjoys designing and sculpting puppets,  masks,  fully formed three dimensional sculptures of animal heads and book characters using papier mache’, working in water color and acrylic paints, and producing pencil renderings of true life objects. From 1992 to 1996 he worked as a substitute teacher in Jefferson Parish Schools in order to gain teaching experience. In his spare time, he enjoys  spending time with family and friends, cabinet making, barn restoration, and furniture restoration using traditional hand tools. He has also worked as a printer, sign painter, and photographer.

    Kellen Murphy Fitzsimmons graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She started her career teaching 1st grade at Chateau Estates School. After a few years in the classroom, she began teaching Health and Physical Education. She has been teaching in Jefferson Parish for the last 12 years, all being at Chateau Estates Schools.This is her first year teaching Adapted Physical Education for Jefferson Parish Schools.

    Nousheen Irfan -Special Education

    Ms. Irfan has always been passionate about teaching as she believes it's a profession of utmost respect. She moved to New Orleans from Katy, Texas where she was a teacher in early education and enjoyed it thoroughly. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics and education from Pakistan. Today, she is a proud mother of a daughter who is a lawyer and a son who is majoring in pre-med. She is bilingual and can speak and write both Urdu and English well. She feels lucky to belong to Chateau Estates School which values diversity and hard work. She loves to learn new things from her students as their young minds are filled with innovative ideas particularly technology in today's time. As a teacher, she feels it's her responsibility to provide students with the best understanding of not only class material but also other real life challenges they eventually have to face. In her free time, she loves reading fashion magazines, baking, shopping and spending time with her family.

    Parvanah Karimifard - PreK

    Ms. Parvanah graduated from Melli University of Tehran with a bachelor degree in Geology. She also earned a degree in child care as well as Fitness and Nutrition. She has worked in Jefferson Parish Public Schools for 16 years. She moved to US in 1989 and speaks Farsi, Dari, Turkish, and English. She is passionate about spending time with friends and family and traveling. She has already visited Wien, Istanbul, Frankfurt, London, Rome, Mexico, and Iran. She loves working with the kids because they are building our future.

    Mary Ann has been a paraprofessional since the 2000. She has worked in first through fifth grades. She has two grown daughters and two grandchildren. She enjoys gardening and bowling on a special needs bowling team. Mary loves visiting Ghana where her sister is the director of an orthopedic center that meets the needs of many children and adults. She is also enjoys being a Eucharistic Minister at a local church on Sunday evenings.

    Danielle is a para-educator who has been serving students at Chateau Estates Elementary School since September of 2010 and has been a Jefferson Parish Public School employee since November of 2008. She has an associate’s degree in Commercial Art. She has attended several workshops such as Conscious Discipline, Compass and Common Core, Bullying Prevention & Building Positive Relationships, to name a few. She has also attended training in CPR and Medicine. At Chateau Estates Elementary School, Danielle serves on the Yearbook Committee. She loves interacting with children and helping them learn new things. Being in a child’s learning environment is especially important to her. If given the opportunity, she would not change a thing about what she does every day for children!
