    ASA Admissions for the 2020-2021 School Year

     

    The application window for admissions testing for the Advanced Study Academies for the 2020-2021 school year will open on Monday, September 23, 2019 and close at 12:00 noon Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

    Applications will be available on Friday September 20, 2019 in the offices of all Jefferson Parish Public Schools, at both locations below, and at jpschools.org.

    Documents Required to Qualify for Admissions Testing

     

    Applying for Pre-K through Grade 1:

    ____        To attend Pre-K, a student must be 4 years old on or before September 30, 2020, as verified by an           attached copy of the birth certificate.

    ____        To attend kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2020, as verified by    an attached copy of the birth  certificate.

    ____        All students applying for Pre-K through 1st grade must submit a copy of the birth certificate.

    ____        Proof of residency in Jefferson Parish  All students applying for Pre-K through 1 must currently live in    Jefferson Parish as verified by an attached copy of one of the following: driver’s license, state ID, current utility bill, or other official document.

     

    Applying for Grades 2 through 5:

    ____        A copy of the most recent report card must be attached.

    ____        A student’s age must be verified by an attached copy of the birth certificate

    ____        Proof of residency in Jefferson Parish  The student must also currently live in Jefferson Parish as verified by an attached copy of one of the following: driver’s license, state ID, current utility bill, or other official document. 

     

    Applying for Grades 6th through 12th 

    ____        Proof of residency in Jefferson Parish        

    • The student must currently live in Jefferson Parish as verified by an attached copy of one of the following: driver’s license, state ID, current utility bill, or other official document.

    ____         Report cards

    • Attach copies of the last two years final (end of year) report card. All final course grades in reading, English, math, science, AND social studies courses must be a “C” or higher.

    ____        Standardized Test Scores:

    • Standardized test scores with percentiles from the 2018-2019 school year. The overall composite score is at or above the 85th percentile.
    • If the standardized test submitted does not report a composite score, scores in English and math must each demonstrate a minimum score of 85th percentile in order to move on to admissions testing. OR
    • 2018-2019 school year LEAP scores. The student must score a minimum of Mastery in both English/Language Arts and math. OR
    • 2018-2019 school year End of Course (EOC) test scores from statewide testing. Student must score a minimum of “Good” in English and/or math. OR
    • Qualifying 2018-2019 school year standardized test scores from another state or country.
