    G.T. Woods exists to provide a high-quality, 21st Century education in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that builds a foundation for lifelong learners.



     Our vision is that children leave G.T. Woods with:

    • Mastery of basic skills in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education

    • An inquiring mind and a strong, continual desire for knowledge

    • High moral values-honesty, respect, self-esteem and integrity

     To achieve the shared mission and vision of our school, the G.T. Woods Elementary School staff commit to:

    • Fidelity to the Tier I curriculum.

    • Developing and implementing common formative assessments to monitor each student’s learning;

    • Creating and implementing instructional plans that are aligned to our goals to target areas in need of improvement.

    • Engaging in meaningful, job-embedded staff development to enhance our professional skills.

    • Utilizing a variety of instructional strategies to promote success for all students.

    • Implementing interventions and small group instruction to optimize learning for all students.

    2022-23 Early Release Days

    • December 15-16, 2022 (Grades 6th-8th)
    • May 23, 2023 (Grades 6th-8th)
    • May 24, 2023 (All Grades)


    7:30 a.m.                       The building opens for students

    7:30 - 8:00 a.m.            Breakfast at the Cafeteria

    8:00 a.m. - 2:50 p.m.    Bell Time

    Before 2:20 p.m.           Check-Out


    Check-Out Policy:

    Afternoon dismissal is important to ensuring that every student makes it home safe. No student will be checked out after 2:20 p.m. Please make arrangements to check your child out prior to this time or wait until dismissal time. This is the critical time teachers need to assign homework and ensure that each child is prepared for dismissal. Remember, only persons LISTED ON THE EMERGENCY CARD may sign out students. A valid picture ID must be presented every time a student is checked out of school. The person listed must be over 18.
